Egg-citing news

Soon Hammonds End Eggs will be available for home delivery in Harpenden and the surrounding area

Early in March there will be some new arrivals at Hammonds End. We have recently decided to use some of our grassland for organic egg production. Our flock of sixty hens will have access to a natural environment and will be reared to the highest organic standards. It is hoped that all eggs will be sold through a local delivery system in Harpenden and the surrounding villages.

It will take around a month to allow the hens to get used to their new home and in order for the team at Hammonds End to complete the organic licensing and inspection in order to allow the eggs to be fully certified as organic.

We will update our website with more information during March including details of how to order your eggs

Open Farm Sunday

After a year off Hammonds End Farm will be taking part again this year in the National Open Farm Sunday on 7 June 2015

In 2013 we opened up our farm to around 2000 visitors as part of the National Open Farm Sunday event.

This year we will be taking part again and we hope again that lots of people join us for an afternoon of fun and education in the countryside.

As well as enjoying the tractor and trailor rides and seeing some of the farm machinery this year visitors will be able to meet a cow and calf and help Farmer Stuart collect organic eggs.
