Soon Hammonds End Eggs will be available for home delivery in Harpenden and the surrounding area
Earlier this month our flock of hens arrived and are currently settling in to their new home at Hammonds End. Our hens have access to a natural environment and will be reared to the highest organic standards. It is hoped that all eggs will be sold through a local delivery system in Harpenden and the surrounding villages.
It will take around a month to allow the hens to get used to their new home and in order for the team at Hammonds End to complete the organic licensing and inspection in order to allow the eggs to be fully certified as organic.

On Tuesday 24th March we welcomed thirty six and seven-year-olds from St Nicholas School , Harpenden to the farm for a visit. It was part of their studies about where their food comes from. We made sure they got lots of hands on farming experience with feeding our cows and chickens and testing and weighing our various cereal crops as well as the always popular tractor and trailer ride. They asked loads of questions and seemed to have a great time.
This week has been a busy one with Spring Sowing which so far is going well and hopefully we should be done in the next week. Its also been busy with calving in Kent. We now have around forty young calves around the farm.
